School Facilities and Nutrition

We are committed to supporting local communities by providing essential resources and improving facilities for local schools. Our top priority projects include upgrading kitchen facilities with a 6 plate stove top and oven (R10,000) and a 4 plate stove top and oven (R7,000) for meal preparation, as well as acquiring storage units (R11,000 each, needing 2-3 units) for food supplies. We also aim to upgrade and maintain bathroom facilities, with costs currently being assessed. Additionally, we supply monthly groceries to feed 63 children, at an estimated cost of R10,000 per month. Your support can significantly enhance the quality of life and education for the children in our community. Contact us to learn more about how you can contribute to these vital projects.

A Better School Experience

To further enhance the learning and play environment at local schools, we aim to provide recycling bins for waste management, outside tables and chairs for students and teachers, and maintain play areas with new shading nets and freshly painted swings and jungle gyms. Additionally, the schools need strong, safe bookshelves for children's books, notice boards for teachers, a DVD player for showcasing educational material, and essential items such as blankets and clothing for the children. The estimated cost for these improvements is between R5,000 and R10,000.

Basic Supplies and Community Engagement

The local schools need basic supplies, including stationery, educational materials, and basic medical kits including band-aids, antibacterial creams, disinfectant hand wash, and wet wipes, with estimated costs ranging from R1,000 to R5,000. Additionally, guests are invited to visit Wisani School and contribute their time and labour, whether painting classrooms, maintaining jungle gyms, or conducting educational sessions. Chitwa is available to assist in sourcing items before guests' arrival if shipping is prohibitive; please notify us in advance. Upon arrival at Chitwa, we can arrange a visit to the school for interested guests.
